Safer Sex Practices

Safer sex practices involve sexual partners keeping their blood, semen, pre-ejaculate and vaginal secretions from entering each other's bodies to prevent STIs. Different sexual behaviours carry different levels of risk, depending on how easily the bodily fluids can enter their partner's body.

The most important way of reducing risk of HIV transmission is wearing latex condoms for anal and vaginal sex. Even if both partners are infected, they should practice safe sex as to not reinfect each other. A genuine monogamous relationship between two uninfected partners carries no risk of infection.
