Since women produce around 70% of all food consumed in the developing world, it makes sound economic sense to invest in them. With more women in employment they are then able to afford their treatment for HIV/AIDS and other diseases.

Caritas Australia helps communities and individuals to help themselves, regardless of ethnicity, religion or political beliefs. They support long-term development programs in extremely poor communities such as Africa, Asia, and East Timor. They help oppressed people to take greater control over their lives and overcoming poverty.
